Selecting Real Foods

Choosing a healthy lifestyle isn’t as hard as one may think, but it must always start with food. Food is what gives you the energy to go about your day. If you eat a lot of processed food, your body isn’t getting the correct nutrients and energy that it needs. Also, don’t worry about counting calories and how many carbs you can have. Instead, focus on selecting real food when choosing ingredients for your meals. Making healthy meals with real food is not hard at all, but first you have to know what real food is. Real food is food that is not processed. A good way to choose food is to not buy any that has more than five ingredients. Another way to make sure you have enough variety is to make an effort to have different colors on your plate every day. Make a point to try a new vegetable or fruit in your meal each week. Once you get the hang of choosing the right ingredients, you’re ready to move on to preparing meals. Here are two easy recipes for a snack and meal to get you started!

Ants on a Log:Take a piece of celery, wash, and slice it in half. Then fill the slices with almond butter or peanut butter and top with raisins or any type of dried fruit.

Taco Lettuce Wraps:
