Marcela – An Exhibition by Rikkianne Van Kirk

Opening Reception

First Friday, July 5, 2024, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Performance by Marcela Friday, July 5, 2024 at 8:00 PM

Marcela is a study of a dancer. I was inspired by Marcela’s movements from the first time I saw her perform. I was immediately drawn to her improvisational expression. It is evident that Marcela embraces the beauty of imperfection through accepting and opening up to each moment, each step, each note.

The drawings on acrylic panels portray transparent, bold, acceptance; all qualities that Marcela radiates while dancing. I aspire to those qualities in my line work.
