Emotions and actions such as love, creativity, and absurdity, can be found throughout the works. Opening on January 5th, the exhibition will be a celebration of young artists.

About the Curator:

Mia Van Kirk is a senior high school art student at North East School of the Arts (NESA) in San Antonio, Texas. She is a painter that is currently exploring the human figure, emotional subject matter, and surrealist techniques. Mia is inspired by all aspects of the visual art world, and is specifically interested in painting, art history, and curatorial projects. Mia is honored to have participated in local art exhibitions throughout the city, and is especially grateful for her first curatorial mentorship with Roberta “ Nina” Hassele and Contemporary Art Month for MBS Gallery.  This opportunity offers Mia a full gallery exhibition experience; from an open call for artists, to installation, marketing, PR and possible sale of artists’ works.  You can see Mia’s window work “Boyz In The City” now on view as part of the Centro “ Art Everywhere Projects” Downtown located on the Commerce street side of Mokara Hotel and Spa between Navarro and St Mary’s.
